Seems a bit strange as we have used adjustable drop links on Race Cars and never had that problem.
Leading evidence: 'Use adjustable drop links' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check over everytime the wind' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. Admittedly the race cars are checked over everytime the wind changes, but I have never given them a thought :?

Yes, I was planning to change both the front and the rear to keep the balance of the car at the moment.

I am currently in the process of getting the rear bushes changed on my 1998 C2 for Powerflex and would like to upgrade the pitifully soft anti roll bar.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Guys,
I am currently in the process of getting the rear bushes changed on my 1998 C2 for Powerflex and would like to upgrade the pitifully soft anti roll bar.
I have been offered both front and rear GT2 versions (27mm thick) and was wondering if this will fit. Is it the same shape just thicker??
Thanks for the help.
Rob
GT2? Are they the same as the GT3 ARBs? The GT3 are the same shape just thicker with added holes for droplink adjustability. You'll need to modify the droplinks or purchase adjustable ones. You'll also need larger ARB bushes IIRC.
LOL, thanks for the warning Damian, I had thought about that.
The reason I say it is pitifully soft, is the work is being carried out by the Race Team I race for and when the Car was up on the ramps, my race engineer removed the drop link and twisted the end of the roll bar up with his hand :? . The thing just twisted without moving the still connected wheel at the other end, surely that can't be right
.
I understand that it is going to sharpen up the handling but if its good enough for a GT2/3 (read famous last words!!! ).
Stuart, I understand they are the same as the GT3 version so I assume they should fit (with the adjustable drop links) Thanks.
Gonna get them and see what happens. If you dont hear from me I have speared off the road and will be found next to my Car crying
Cheers for the replies guys.
Are you doing both front and rear? I've heard of some Turbo boys using a GT3 rear ARB to dial out some of the understeer, but they do have a thicker front than a C2.
Rob, a big welcome to 911uk! What do you race?
I'd carefull with adjustables, I wasted a good £300 on a set that were useless... You could never tighten them enough and were always coming loose. In the end I had JZM cut and weld the front links to size. The stock rears will work. You just won't have any adjustability but then do you really need that?

Thank you Damian,
Glad to be here.
Yes, I was planning to change both the front and the rear to keep the balance of the car at the moment. I was going to leave it up to the race team to sort out a nice neutral set up for the Car.
This year I was racing a Maserati Trofeo GT4 in the British GT and Britcar Championships. That was until another Driver managed to stuff it into a wall at Thruxton at over 100 mph and wrote it off :frustrated: . He did a good job on it, even managed to move the left hand head lamp back 3 1/2 feet!!! :worship: We couldn't get a replacement shell so that was the end of my season
Next year I have a few option, the first being test and race driver of a new Spanish Supercar which I can't name as the contracts are still to be signed. I also have offers of a Dodge Viper and an Aston Martin in the British GTs. In fact I am testing the Aston on Wednesday next week at Silverstone
. Looking forward to it!!!!
Hi Stuart,
Yeah I read that article the other day, was that in your Car?? Seems a bit strange as we have used adjustable drop links on Race Cars and never had that problem. Admittedly the race cars are checked over everytime the wind changes, but I have never given them a thought :? .
Perhaps its the constant pounding they get on our wonderful condition roads. Then again slamming a car over apex kerbs at over 100 mph is a pretty good test of durability I would have thought :?:
Did you get charged for them putting the old drop links back on (all be it with the fronts welded)??
So just a little bit of race experience then! :thumb:
I think it could just have been those droplinks from that manufacturer, I've heard good things about TRG links.
London roads couldn't have helped either but you don't want to jack the car up to tighten everytime you go out for a drive. I tried all manner of loctite too and no joy.
When JZM installed them they had to retighten after a test drive. I supplied the parts though so had to be charged for it to be rectified. That's only fair though and it wasn't expensive, just a pain in the @rse :frustrated:
All fixed now though... (touches wood)
