This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello all, am considering getting a new weekend plaything, also to be used for the occasional long trip, and have a few choices: 1. TVR Tuscan (fragile!) 2. Bike engined Westfield (Basic but very cheap for the performance) 3. 996 Cabriolet. Now the wife wants us to get a 996 cabriolet, as she could also use it when I am away (which is fairly often). I am happy to buy the car, but I resent spending a fortune on servicing (perhaps a Northern Thing...LOL!), and I reckon the TVR would cost a fortune to run! I have seen what looks a nice 996 cabriolet, but it has done 120K miles (90K on a new engine from Porsche). I reckon I could get it for just under £13K! What are peoples thoughts on this? Oh, I would do any work on brakes, susepnsion etc myself, as more than confident in all of that, in fact, the only thing I would not like to touch would be the engine (even though I could do very easily). Thanks and a great Forum Lee
