Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

This is a good reminder that I should probably just go check my bulbs.

I was surprised to find my original passenger running light was MIA, but not to worry, I had a spiffy new bulb hand.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I installed Adrians new tail light kit today. Any time I am touching 25 year old plastic/ and potentially brittle wiring insulation I find myself holding my breath involuntarily. However, I like the idea of bright tail lights to keep those behind me at bay.
The videos and instructions were super clear and easy to follow. I turned off the lights in my shop to take pictures. The before picture needed a 3 second time lapse which makes the lights look brighter than they actually were.
I was so excited I could not hold the camera fully still for 3 seconds.
The after picture was taken immediately and I was temporarily blinded. My wife said the shop glowed from the outside. Ok, slight exaggeration, but the difference is truly amazing.
After - no time lapse for low light
Everything installed and ready to remount.
I installed the resistor bank and taped the wires so they wont rub on the light housing or car. I also fished the pull cable to a hidden but easy to retrieve place.
The light bulbs were kind of scary.
All of the light bulbs were in various states of roast.
The old bulbs clearly lived a long life. The orange coating on the blinker lights was seriously peeled, requiring a quick vacuum to remove the debris from the light. All of the bulbs were black/burnt. I was surprised to find my original passenger running light was MIA, but not to worry, I had a spiffy new bulb hand.
Blinker orange peel
This would be a dark roast.
Everything went back together in a butter smooth fashion and my fears of 25 year old plastic/ brittle wiring insulation were relieved. I am really happy with this upgrade.
Full disclosure - Adrian did not ask me to write this. I did it because I am really happy with this upgrade.
Electrical engineer here. This is really more helpful than the Adrian website. Seeing the power resistor is part of the package makes me confident that the low current LEDs won't trigger a fault in the computer. I was wondering how they avoided the fault indicator and now I know. Thanks for posting.
This is a good reminder that I should probably just go check my bulbs. Never bothered to look in there.
Personally I prefer the way that incandescents fade in and out for older cars, but I can definitely understand why you would value the increased brightness. Our cars are relatively tiny these days and every bit helps.
I also ordered the kit -easy install and amazing light output! At the same time I ordered and installed the reverse light bar so I could see behind me at night after installing a backup camera. Had I thought about it would have ordered the third brake light kit - ordered separately and installed as mine was falling apart. Makes such a difference should be on everyone's to do list!!
Adrian's install video mentions the installation of the resistor as optional. He said not all cars post a code without the resistor.
Since the resistor comes with the bulbs it was a no brainer. It attaches with double sided adhesive tape, but I'm probably going tap holes and take advantage of the two mounting plates each resistor body has and screw them in. With the close proximity to the engine and mufflers it has to be on the warm side back there.
