Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

what are you doing to try to change it - using the knob on the dashboard by the rev gauge?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

welcome to the forum
if your keyring is dead its not cheap to get a new one as you have to program it with the car
Hi
Have tried turning the button to the left and it changes to speedo and trip meter from kms to miles and vice versa, but the on board computer stays in litres and kilometers.
Any further advice greatly appreciated
Cheers
Scruffy probably has a facelift 996, which has the newer 'dot matrix' OBC display. On these you can change the units in the SET menu. The early cars had country-specific instrument clusters and the OBC units aren't changeable.
With the key.... stick it in the door and press the alarm activate/deactivate button.... you might be lucky and the key resync itself....
If you've got PCM...you can also set this on here and it should reflect on the changes to you OBC display...
Took it to Low Bank Motors and after half hour of investigation we realised that the analogue display for the speed is in Km therefore it must have been bought in Germany although it is a RHD.
Also tried everything to pair the key but would appear that the key will still not communicate with the car. Have ordered new key - approx £60
Cheers for your help
What is the country code shown on the sticket under the luggage compartment lid, or in the front of the maintenance book? Also, what Model Year is the car?
It is shown at the beginning of the options list, and starts with a "C". C16 is UK.
It sounds like yours might be an import, from somewhere like Cyprus (C98), or another RHD country.
Confused .......... why should it be much cheaper !!
Are you saying they don't build them with the same Porsche parts for Hong Kong !!
According the the Official Porsche Website - it's a global company.
I think what Richard H means is:
1- Cheaper due to supply and demand. Import cars tend go demand less then "c16" cars.
2- "c16" dictates a "uk spec", thus some options that may be standard or otherwise supplied on a UK car may not be on "non-uk" cars (and vice-versa).
3- Imports are cheaper to buy (when outside the uk), thus buyers are not often willing to pay the going rate for a non c16 model.
But.... all that is small-fry... Turn the key, find a nice road and enjoy.
Also, you won't be able to get a Porsche warranty,
insurance
might be higher (some companies won't insure imports), and lot of UK buyers won't buy a non-C16 car.
But as c.afsar says, drive it and enjoy it, but you might take a bit more of a hit at sale time, and it will be more difficult to sell.
