I believe the old smaller front disc's and calipers can then be used on the rear to complete the big brake upgrade?

You'll need to add 5mm wheel spacers if using the stock 17" front wheels, in order to clear the wider S brake calipers.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hi, It's probably been asked a million times but is it a straight swap to put the 3.4s front calipers and disc's onto a base cayman 2.7. My Cayman is a 2008, what year front calipers and disc's do I use and off what model/year. Thanks in advance

POST 2Original post

Interchange guide shows the discs and calipers can be sourced from: Boxster S 1997-2011 Cayman S 2006-2012

POST 3Original post

Thank you, do you know if there a straight away or is anything else needed. Spacers etc??

POST 4Original post

When I did mine it was just the discs and calipers (including all of the caliper bits like brake pads, retaining springs, locking pin, etc)

POST 5Original post

Can I ask if the upgrade made much difference? I believe the old smaller front disc's and calipers can then be used on the rear to complete the big brake upgrade?

POST 6Original post

I did it for reduced wear rates on trackdays, which it did accomplish. For driving on the road you’re mostly just carrying around more unsprung weight. Front calipers on the rear would have the wrong sized pistons and the hydraulics would not work correctly. Front discs would not fit as they lack the drum for the handbrake.

POST 8Original post

No problem I have 19" wheels. Thanks for the info though.
