Any recommendations for license plates lights to replace the factory halogen ones?

Maybe I should only change these rear lights when they stop working, I have seen some water droplets inside after a good hand wash, but does not seem to affect the performance whatsoever!

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Found no difference between all of the potential ones out there (SW-Celi, VIPMOTOZ, Porschelights, etc.) except for one minor color difference.
I'm thinking about replacing the tail lights on my
987.2
and I found these:

I adore the looks of the 718 tail lights. However, I'm not sure how well these would look on a 987 Cayman. I like the 718 tail lights but at the same time, to have this on a 987 Cayman feels a bit much. It feels like it makes the car look cheapish with ebay-ish tail lights and not sure how well it flows with the vehicle.
An example:
They look good but I'm not sure. Any thoughts/insight?
^ I think they modernize the 987 in a much needed way. Pinky Lai created a timeless masterpiece but unfortunately, the 15 year old components are not ageless. Adding
LED
tails not only makes the car more aesthetically pleasing, they also add more safety with higher visibility. Some owners like keeping their car stock which is totally fine. I happen to be a mod ***** and love to personalize my 987.
Definitely helps, it's a completely different look with the newer
LED
tail lights.
Nevertheless, the quality of the electronics is low. One side parking light stopped working after installation.

What brand did you buy? Mine are from Sonar. Taiwanese IIRC. Depo is also supposed to be a good after market brand for lights. I guess as with plugs, brakes and other after market parts, its also important to buy the better ones.
I still cannot decide if I should pull the trigger... I know it's personal choice but I am genuinely concerned that it would take away some of the vintage charm of my base
987.2

Here are the Sonar Taiwan lights I was offered here in Kuala Lumpur 🇲🇾
Found some examples that provide a good view. I went ahead ordered these off Amazon:

Also I ordered those
LED
plate lights from
Suncoast parts
recently, which won't exactly work (incorrect resistances, could cause electrical problems, haven't installed them yet). Any recommendations for license plates lights to replace the factory halogen ones? Just not super bright like with some aftermarket
LEDs
.
Also some more example pictures in case if someone comes across a situation similar to mine:

Question.... For my Carrara white
987.2
Which would look better, the
718
style light with sequential turn signals... Or
981
style?
The 718 style is very modern and perhaps too modern for the retro and vintage charm of my 2011 Base 987.2?
So I am leaning towards the 981 style lights which I may get unsmoked / clear and red version?
After seeing the FD3S post (Hope you don't mind me copying this great photo of your guards red 987.2 v an actual 981 GT4!) I am inclined towards this look.... What do all of you think?
Just a heads up, in days of yore when I used to do NYS inspections only a clear backup light would pass said inspection. May want to know the local laws of your land before you customize.
Do it. Of all the upgrades I've done, the taillights are the best decision I've made for appearance. They modernize the car and people think it is much newer than it is.
Not too bad. Wished the lights were wired up to be similar to how the 718's lights worked but oh well. Was thinking about adding Cayman R style side decals to the car but I'm not sure how well that would flow. With the modern look of the tail lights vs. the old looks of the stripes, not sure if it would be too much.
@Johnny Appleseed
Wow nice tail light upgrade and I love the blue of your car - Mine is plain old Carrara White!
Yah perhaps Cayman R side decals may confuse the overall look? I left mine as is with these small Cayman S decals that came with my 987.2...
And yup... I have still resisted changing my tail lamps, keeping them stock and still loving the vintage look!
Happy belated Christmas to all in the forum and be safe everyone.. happy driving!!
