Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Hi guys , new on this site and already managed to ***** up my username (dont know if it can be changed?).
Leading evidence: 'Replace ?)' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace ?)' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

There is no difference between a 2001 tt and a 2003 tt so the best is to buy on condition an mileage
Hi guys , new on this site and already managed to ***** up my username (dont know if it can be changed?). Anyway I've had a couple of 911s in the past (3.2 cabrio + 993c4s) and I fancy getting into a 996TT.There is one for sale up my way at the moment , a 2001 996TT with Techart bodykit /wheels and DMS upgrade with 59K miles. Its on page 10 /11 P/heads classifieds.Sorry I dont know how to do linky thing.I was wondering what the general opinion is on cars with bodykits/upgrades? The seller is asking around the 40k mark.I have been out for a ride in the car and all seems well.Looking over the car , the 4 alloys are kerbed and it has the usual scuff marks under the front spoiler.I would of course get a PPI before buying although it has got a 1 year warranty at the local opc. Question is would I be better off in a standard 03 / 04 car ? Your thoughts would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
I am sure the seller won't like it but I have recently traded my 2003TT (facelift) with 40k miles (Black/black/manual) for £35k.
The warranty may be void with the DMS for anything engine/drivetrain related.
At least £5k overpriced and maybe even more as non-standard. The kerbed alloys give you an idea of how it has been driven!
some options became std on later cars. >04 cars have a 2yr service schedule.
Mods are a personal thing. I think the car can be improved so why not but are the improvements what you want, or would want?
MY2002 was when the glovebox etc became standard. As for mods it is down to the individual. Putting Revo on mine transformed the car and I love it to bits (R8 is still tempting though) DMS / Revo are both common mods to the 996tt and the GT1 block is more than capable of handling the power. Not sure about DMS but the Revo is undetectable by OPC unless they drive it.
Yes....Revo is switchable if you buy the additional SPS module. I used mine for the odd service work etc (its probably still in the for sale section).
Not sure if other remaps are switchable and if you don't know which remap you have then not sure you can do much about it.
Also whilst some may claim to be undetectable to the current PST that doesn't mean that they will remain to be and with the current changes to warranties it would not surprise me if this is another area where they start looking.
£40k is too much.
I sold my 996 TT, with the X50 pack and the aerokit (so factory upgrades), and a DMS exhaust for £38k earlier this year. Was a 2001 with roughly 48k miles from memory.
