It usually works a treat, coats the seals with a film that re-seals and saves you a packed in steering rack and/or pipe seal replacement and/or geo re-set costs.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So the OPC have advised me today that the steering rack feed and return line seals have worn thus causing a leak of the fluid. I had originally thought that this was a front diff seal leak as the fluid was collecting in a similar place on the undertray. I can't say I'd noticed any discernable effect on steering feel tho ! Job is covered by wtee so no issues but I would be interested to hear if this is something that anyone else has experienced / hear about ??

POST 2Original post

I have a 2002 tt and had the return line replaced under warranty earlier this year. I understand its quite a big job (but then arn't they all according to OPC!!) front subframe dropped etc.... Not sure if it is a common problem with components or not.

POST 3Original post

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The opc replaced the o-ring seals on the power steering lines - it wasnt the steering rack thankfully. Done under wtee and had it come out of my own pocket would only have been about £175 or so... so not a big job.
